• Its one more match lost by the narrowest of margins

    The Final day of the 2014 English County Championships - Royal North Devon Golf Club - Sunday 28th September. We faced Yorkshire in this last match with 'The Tykes' having to win to take the title, but only if Cornwall (never before Champions) would lose to Surrey. When a team such as ours cannot win, there can be a lack of commitment, no matter what the words of a Captain to inspire them. This just wasn't the case and that was simply because our wanted one more chance to post a match win, so close had the previous two days been.

  • Day 2 and its even closer than our first match

    Day 2 of the 2014 English County Finals - Royal North Devon GC - Warwickshire play Cornwall - Its history that the Midlands finalist in the English County Finals are the underdogs - at least they have been for 24 years since we (Warwickshire) were the last Midland's winners. But for one or two putts over the last two days, we could have been trying to rectify that losing streak tomorrow. A it is we will take on Yorkshire still trying to do our very best and how well we play will influence who wins - but it won't be Warwickshire.

    Day 1 of the English County Finals - Friday 26th September - Royal North Devon GC - if today's matches are anything to go by, this year's English County Finals are going to be very close. Cornwall went into a 3-0 lead in their match against Yorkshire after the foursomes then had to withstand a big fight-back from Yorkshire (who won the singles 4-2). We managed to lead at lunch 2-1 vs Surrey then faced a similar fight-back ...

    Warwickshire U16s vs Derbyshire U16s ? 20th September 2014 Match With Warwickshire needing a win to secure the league title, a second visit to Atherstone GC set the stage. Derbyshire set the standard by fighting back in the morning foursomes to secure a 3 ? 3 all draw.
