• First win at 55 - Braodhurst is back - and our U14s do well

Yesterday didn't actually see Paul Broadhurst's first tour win (that was in 1989) and his last win was in 2006 - on the European Tour - but 15 days after his 55th Birthday, on his first venture onto the Seniors Tour, he recorded his first (hopefully of many) as a 'Senior'. That was in Scotland and back here in the Midlands, our U14s were doing their best in the Midland team Championships.

  • One more match to retain the title

Warwickshire Boys vs Shropshire & Hereford Boys - Burghill Golf Club Hereford - Sunday 16th August - Yet again this year the weather was great for the Boys' last match of the 2015 league season against Shropshire & Herefordshire. A much changed Warwickshire team only needed a draw 7.5-7.5 to retain the West Midland League Championship.

  • Majestic Macilwraith Captures Boys Title

Shirley Golf Club - Thursday 30th August - On a day of swirling winds, green fairways and challenging pin positions our boys faced a stern test of golf in this year's Boys Championship, conditions which were reflected in the morning scores that saw no one break par.

  • Too close to call

The Warwickshire 2nd Team's penultimate match of the 2015 Season saw us travel to Stourbridge Golf Club to take on Worcestershire who found themselves in a similar position, needing a victory to keep their hopes of winning the 2nds League alive. Anything but a win would mean either team could all but forget their title aspirations for a year.

  • Tail Wags Again

Sunday 2nd August - Our penultimate Midland League game of the year was at home to Worcestershire at Edgbaston Golf Club. Edgbaston Golf Club was established in 1896 and in 1936 the Golf Course was laid out by the legendary H S Colt who was also responsible for the design and re-modelling of many famous course including the New and Eden courses at St Andrews, Muirfield, Sunningdale and Royal St Georges. With the course in splendid condition and the greens running very true, we were going to be in for a great day's golf ahead.

  • And the first Nett Champion is - Simon Daysh

The 2015 Warwickshire Nett Championship - The County Membership Scheme - Monday 13th July - Robin Hood GC - The weather wasn't perfect (drizzle for most of the day) but the course was and with greens running at 12 on the stimpmeter (despite the damp conditions), the 62 CMS members who gathered for the first Nett Championship soon found it a truest test. First out led for much of the morning with 31, then 33 seemed like the winning score before Rugby's Simon Daysh, last out, handed in 36 points to claim the title (and he blobbed the last!).
