• Big Come-back sees Broadhurst retain the JOM title (VIDEO ADDED 20/10)

    The JOM Championship - The West Midlands Golf Club - Saturday 18th October - When you know that 80% (13 of your fellow competitors) can win a title which takes a season to get into contention for, even though you are leader going into the last event, you are either playing in the PGA Play-offs or you are Sam Broadhurst trying to retain a title you won in dramatic fashion in 2013. Starting 5,6,7 is about as big disaster as you can have.

  • Warwickshire Bears vs Leatherjackets

    The annual match against the Leatherjackets was played at Olton Golf Club this September. The 10 man teams assembled for breakfast at Olton at 8.30am for a day of very competitive (but friendly) golf between two teams of past county players - ourselves (Warwickshire) and Somerset .

  • Atherstone take the Jack Urry Cup

    The Autumn Meeting of the Warwickshire County Membership Scheme - Leamington & County Golf Club - Wednesday 17th September - On a glorious September day, with Leamington looking wonderful, 79 four-ball pairs from across our County gathered to play for the Jack Urry Cup. It was a day of low scoring with the field including present WUGC President Graham Hayes and Past President John Stubbings.

    Sunday 5th October 2014 - Market Drayton Golf Club the venue for the much awaited Midland Boys Final against the winners of the East Midland League Nottinghamshire.With a much changed top order due to International call ups to both Max Martin & Luke Northwood we arrived at Market Drayton Golf Club having cleared our car windows of frost, to a rather chilly start for our final against the East Midlands Champions Nottinghamshire.

  • Its one more match lost by the narrowest of margins

    The Final day of the 2014 English County Championships - Royal North Devon Golf Club - Sunday 28th September. We faced Yorkshire in this last match with 'The Tykes' having to win to take the title, but only if Cornwall (never before Champions) would lose to Surrey. When a team such as ours cannot win, there can be a lack of commitment, no matter what the words of a Captain to inspire them. This just wasn't the case and that was simply because our wanted one more chance to post a match win, so close had the previous two days been.
