• What a Win - Harborne take the Colt Cup

Three times this year our County teams have played a classic course in matches. We are priveleged, as a County, to have a number of architectural 'gems' as part of a Union of 49 clubs where over 15 000 club members and visitors enjoy social and competative golf year round, but if your course was designed by Harry Colt, there is the opportunity to play in a special championship and to win a spectacular trophy - Harborne GC did just that and brought home the 'Colt Cup'.

  • The Warwickshire Boys & U14s - its time to enter

If you are Junior member of any of our clubs, and meet the handicap requirements, you should be playing in The Warwickshire Boys (30th July at Kenilworth GC), and if you are U14, in the Warwickshire U14s (19th August at N Warks GC) - THE CLOSING DATE FOR THE BOYS IS JUST DAYS AWAY - 15TH JULY

  • Awesome Foursomes & Superb Singles

With two tough away fixtures behind us, The Warwickshire 2nd Team finally had a home game to sink their teeth into. A much changed team from last month's game at Staffordshire now included three Harborne members who would hopefully provide the team with some useful advice, and of course some wins too! All this taking place on a big day for British sport, including the Men's Wimbledon Final, The Tour de France racing in Yorkshire, and the F1 British Grand Prix at Silverstone, the latter of which I had been in attendance the previous 3 days - no doubt some Formula one puns upcoming.

  • A Trio of Top Performances - Boys vs Staffs

Warwickshire Boys vs Staffordshire Boys - Sunday 6th July - Izaak Walton Golf Club - For the third year in a row we went into this match with the all-conquering Staffordshire Boys team undefeated in the Midland League. Having lost to Staffordshire 6-2 which cost us taking the 4 counties Trophy in April our boys wanted revenge.

  • 'Rut in the Park' - No 2 of our Trio

The third County match of the season would see Warwickshire and Notinghamshire go antler to antler at Wollarton Park Golf Club. A first class park land venue in the grounds of Wollarton Hall and a course that regularly hosts a Midland order of merit event - the 'The Wollarton Stagg' (entries still open see club web site for details). The course is the home of a herd of dear which can be seen throughout the course grazing and wandering through the mature oaks, ferns and the long fescue grasses that define the course.

  • Carman takes the Seniors - the tale of the 2014 title

Nuneaton GC - Monday 22nd June - After a two hole play-off, the Seniors title returned to Coventry (three Warwickshire titles out of three for this year) in the hands of Andrew Carman. It was a superb day and marked the arrival of a new face in our Seniors Golf, that of Mark Reynolds from Bramcote Waters who was in the play-off for the title. • We climb The Mountain and Win

Warwickshire Boys vs Derbyshire Boys at Chevin Golf Club SSunday 22 June 1014 - We arrived at Chevin Golf Club with a very young and inexperienced Boys Team. In total five of the team were under 16 but following their fortunes in the U16s league I had total faith in all of them being able to making the step up to take on the Boys Midland County Champions in their own back yard.
