I am reminded of the fairy tale, the beauty and the beast. The course at Hollingwell is beautiful but it is also a beast, particularly for the men off the back tees. In the sunshine the course was at its best, but the wind thought the valley added to the test even more. All of our boys had stories of good scoring soured by a high scoring hole or two.

Tom held his focus and carded two x78 [SSS 76 for men shows the course is far from easy off the back]. Max Martin had the second best Warwickshire score of 80, 78 and came close to qualifing. 157 was in tenth boys qualifying place.

Michael Pell finished on 79,83, Sam Gill on 89,84. Robert Owens finished strongly on 85,77.

Elizabeth Malet was third best girl with 76,79 [ 155] and qualified for the ESGA National finals. Katrina Garni stuck at it and carded 91,87 for 178.
