The morning round for the 36 holes competition produced an excellent 76, nett 71 from Abbey Gittings followed later by another below handicap round of 75, nett 70. Her playing partner was the English Champion, Felicity Johnson, who played to handicap in the morning with a gross 71. She then produced the record breaking afternoon round of 68 including 6 birdies and an eagle. Not to be outdone Charlotte Dalton also had an eagle in her fine round of 75, nett 67, in the afternoon.

The 18 holes competition was just as exciting. The home player, Elizabeth Mallett, burnt up the course with 83, nett 66. Elizabeth was closely followed by, Ashley Crammond on 86, nett 72 and Lauren Taylor on 87, nett 70. Not bad for three 11 year olds!

The new nett intermediate prize, for ex juniors under 21, was won by Stacey Edwards.

The girls? section of the Warwickshire U15 gross competition over 27 holes was held in conjunction with the championship for this year due to a clash of dates in the busy summer calendar. The Walmley player, Abbey Gittings was the winner of the Sylvia Evans Trophy and the runner up was Elizabeth Mallett.

Our thanks go to the members of Sutton Coldfield Golf Club for their help and support before and during the day and for allowing this successful event to be staged there.
