'I don't like par 3 courses anymore', said Max half jokingly as Stefan beat him by two shots with a 64 to a 66.
Stefan took the lead with a front nine of 34 ot Max's 35 and beat Martin again on the back nine as he came back in 30 to Max's 31. It all added up to a second consecutive win against last year's European Champion!
With this being Max's last year, Stefan could go for a treble next year. He needs to watch out though for the likes of Joe Macilwraith and Luke Challis, Luke already showing signs of as much talent as his father. Also of mention will be Josh Davenport, second in the putting competition and sixth overall.
The U8s went to Jamie Johnson by four shots with a nine hoe score of 41, beating Benjamin Hodges of Stratford, that club's first placing in this competition over its four year history.
A big thanks went, at the presentations, to host club and annual sponsor of the Young Masters, Stoneleigh Deer Park and its owners John and Cherie Ray.
