Charlotte Taylor, just returned from the British Girls had scores of 83 & 84. Melissa Nicol improved on her morning round by 2 shots and Alice Young, after a tough first round, took 10 shots off her morning score. Gia Rhodes was playing her first 36 holes after several weeks absence due to injury and was pleased to complete the course. Hannah-Pearl Wood had to retire in the afternoon round after aggravating a wrist strain.

The Midlands South Girls Handicap Stableford was held at Oakland Park GC, Buckinghamshire on 26th August. The course was in remarkably good condition after the heavy rain throughout the week and early that morning. Light rain persisted for the first part of the competition but did not dampen spirits for this first major competition for many of the girls.

Warwickshire was represented by Lucy Munro, Molly Giles-Brown and Sophie Thompson all from Marston Lakes (pictured). Lucy & Molly admitted to too many no scores finishing with 28 & 31. Normally coming in with 40 points & you would hope for a prize but Sophie finished only 10th the winner having 47 and the next three places scoring 46! Sophie (pictured) had the consolation of the nearest the pin prize on the 14th hole.

Congratulations to Lauren Taylor who was undefeated in her Girls Home International matches, reaching the second match-play round at the British Girls & finishing 12th in the British ladies Stroke-play Championship. Also to Elizabeth Mallett who won all her singles matches in the Girls Home Internationals, reached the first round of the British Girls match-play and finished 20th in the British ladies stroke-play.

Lauren has just won the Faldo Series at Trentham to earn her place in the Finals on the Faldo Course at Lough Erne Resort, Co Fermanagh from 21st to 23rd September and will play against fellow England players, Heidi Baek, Holly Clyburn and Hannah Barwood as well as other international qualifiers.
