LAUREN TAYLOR at BRITISH WOMEN'S OPEN 2011

Having won the British Amateurs earlier in the Summer, Lauren TAYLOR gained her entry into the Ricoh Women's Open 28th to 31st July. The Open, held in 2011 at Carnoustie, Lauren was looking forward to this new experience, albeit teeing off on day 1 at 6.52 a.m...

Teeing off alongside Melissa REID (England) and Sherri STEINHAUER (USA), Lauren scored at very competitive 74, ending the day on +2.

On Day 2, she had the luxury of a lie in, starting later in the day where again she played a very good round finishing with a second 74 and ending the 2 days on +4.

Felicity JOHNSON, a former Warwickshire Junior Girl finished with a +3 for the 2 rounds.

Unfortunately both did not make the cut which came at +2. Laurent really enjoyed her time at Carnoustie meeting and playing with all her heros in the Women's game.

Lauren has also qualified for the US Ladies Amateur Championship and left Britain on Sunday 7th August - we wish her well.

Even before having won the British Amateur, Lauren had been offered a place to study from August 2012, at Baylor University in Texas
