This difficult format - Foursomes Stableford - coupled with a sunny but windy day proved to be a challenge to all and the difficulty was reflected in the scores.

However, the two winners with 35 points who obviously enjoyed the beautifully presented golf course, were Alma GILKS and Deborah REYNOLDS from Bramcote Waters Golf Club. They received the Rene Greey Trophy and two magnificent Bohemian Crystal candlesticks from the competition's sponsor, Rudell the Jeweller of Harborne.

Not to be outdone by their fellow club members, coming a close second with 34 points were Margaret JOHNSON and Val GILKS, also of Bramcote Waters GC. They were the lucky recipients of two enormous crystal vases.

Helen WEBB and Margaret WEBB (sisters-in-law) of Rugby GC came in third with 33 pts, winning two Bohemian Crystal punch bowls.

Dottie Beanland (County Captain) presented the prizes and thanked Nuneaton GC for their presentation of the course, the support the county had received from the Lady Captain and her helpers and from the starter and the Club Secretary. She also thanked Rudell the Jewellers, who have given their unfailing support to the county for many years.
