WVLGA SUMMER MEETING 2011

The sun shone all day on some 128 competitors playing in the Summer AM AM at Shirley Golf Club, on Monday 22nd August 2011. When the cards were handed in, the comments heard around the clubhouse included, good greens, what a lot of water on the first 4 holes, isn't the course difficult and so on, but on balance everyone seemed to have enjoyed the occasion....

A good range of scores came in this AM AM Stableford format, with 2 scores counting out of the 4 in a team.

Eventual winners were a team of Shirley G.C. Ladies who finished with 86 points. Pictured are Minu NATHWANI, Carol O'HARE, Ladies President, Chris LEES, Rita LAWSON and Dawn GOULD

Runner's up were a team from Leamington & County G.C. which included our President and Jane DENNICK, who also won the Longest Drive in the Silver Division. This drive was a wopper, nearly running out of fairway!!
