The morning foursomes saw Warwickshire gain a point from the 'old hands' of Lisa Barton & Claire Howells. They reckoned it was at least three years since they had last played foursomes together. Charlotte Dalton and Lauren Taylor had no luck on the greens having several lip-outs to lose their match. Elizabeth Haycock and Rachel Rusted faired no better also losing so Warwickshire went into lunch 2 points to 1 down.

The team came out fighting in the afternoon sunshine. Charlotte Taylor led off and was 1 up after 11, with a birdie on the notorious 7th. However the stronger opponent kept up the pressure so Charlotte finished 2 down. Elder sister Lauren was paying well with 4 birdies but a 15 minute hold up on the 17th for a ruling upset her concentration and she finished AS from dormie 2 up. Charlotte Dalton was next out and had a very tight match with excellent golf. Her opponent putted exceptionally well, and Charlotte eventually finished 1 down on the 18th.

Ashley Cramond was having a good scrap too, coming back from 3 down to go down the 18th, finishing 1 down. Lisa Barton had her match under control but was also forced to play the 18th , winning 2up. The final match of Claire Howells was another cliff hanger. She had been 3 down at one stage, but fought back to finish AS.

So 5 matches went to the 18 holes leaving Warwickshire with 3 points to Surrey's 6 - it could so easily have been closer.
