Today the team faced the well fancied home side Lancashire. Morning foursomes started with Lauren Taylor and Ashley Cramond who, after a very tight match, clinched a half by winning the 18th hole. Lisa Barton and Charlotte Taylor had a tough match as did Rachel Rusted with Liz Galland (playing for the first time this week) with both matches finishing early. All the Warwickshire players felt that they played well but just did not manage to overcome the local players' knowledge of the course.
Afternoon singles had Charlotte Taylor (playing her last match of the week) facing a tough +3 player but showed her talent with an excellent birdie on the difficult par 5, 9th hole, hitting a 5 iron to within a few inches of the hole. Ashley Cramond had a number of birdies in her closely fought match finally losing on the 17th hole. Lauren Taylor had a ding dong battle and managed to take her match to the 18th just missing a birdie putt that would have given her the win in her final appearance of the week.
Charlotte Dalton continued her good form which finally gave her the result she deserved - a fine 7 and 5 win. Lisa Barton maintained her steady play with an excellent 3 and 1 win. Hannah McLaughlin, who stated that she felt she had played her best golf for County to date, unfortunately met an on fire opponent who played sub par golf.
Final result - Warwickshire lost 6 and 3.
