"I first met Ashley as an 8 year old when her bag and trolley were bigger than she was. I was a member at The Warwickshire Golf Club where Ashley came to play with her father and grandfather. She soon started to play with the ladies on competition days and they were all charmed by both her golf and her cheerful disposition.
Two years ago - as a 14 year old and playing of a handicap of 4 - Ashley was first selected for the County 1st Team and played in the County Finals at Long Ashton Golf Club, Bristol in 2008 alongside her friends Lauren Taylor and Elizabeth Mallett, two other 14 year olds.
She was again selected for County Week 2009, played at nearby Ladbrook Park, and was part of the successful young squad, led by Bev Belcher, that won through to County Finals at Pleasington Golf Club, Lancashire in September of 2009.
Ashley has continued to demonstrate her abilities in 2010, recently coming 2nd in the Scottish U16 Championships.
She has been a real asset to the Warwickshire Squad and we will all miss her dreadfully as Ashley has decided to pack her bags, buy a billycan and a boomerang and emigrate to Australia with her family.
On behalf of the Association and all her fellow team members, including those who cannot be here today - Lauren & Charlotte Taylor, Hannah MacLoughlin, Abbey Gittings, Hannah Coles and Charlotte Dalton, we wish you the very best for your future. We urge you to keep in touch and we shall watch your progress in golf in Australia with interest from afar."
Dottie then presented a gift to Ashley as a memento of her many friends in Warwickshire golf.
