She learnt that she had just been selected to represent England as part of a three strong English Womens team that are taking part in the Spanish Amateur Ladies Championships in Jerez from 2nd to 3rd March 2011.

Commented Elizabeth "It's a real honour to be called up and play for the first time at this level - I couldn't believe my eyes when I opened the letter!!"

The 2010 England Girls Golf Champion has been invited into the Ladies squad and has spent the past week at La Manga in Spain preparing for the top level tournament, as part of an England warm weather training camp.

An excited Elizabeth said " I'm glad to escape from all the bad weather and be able to work on my short game and putting as it's been difficult to get out on the course recently".

Elizabeth sees the opportunity to play in an event including some of the best ladies amateur golfers in Europe as being an important next step up the golfing ladder. She added "It will be good to see where my game is against mostly older and more experienced golfers and I will at least find out areas that I need to improve upon and I am really looking forward to the challenge".
