Robin Hood Golf Club was the venue and we were hoping that the extended summer weather would have continued until this event. Sadly not, as the wind blew, the leaves, acorns and pine needles fell down on us but thankfully it did not rain!

Scores were low in this Foursomes Stableford format but as is usual in these events, the later competitors brought the scores up to a respectable level. They were:-

1st Lindsey BROOKS and Barbara JONES (Henley G & CC) with 35 points

2nd Di McCORMICK and Joy AYLIFF (Nuneaton GC) with 33 points

3rd Margaret SHEEPY and Pam LYONS (Leamington & County GC) with 31 points

4th Mave MENDUS and Ann WARDLE (Walmley GC) with 30 points (countback on Back 9)

Longest Drive: Margaret SHEEPY (Leamington & County GC)

Nearest Pin: Christine DIMBLEBY (Nuneaton GC)

After golf, all competitors sat down to an excellent lunch which was very well received.

Dottie Beanland in her welcoming speech, thanked all at Robin Hood GC for their help prior to and during the event. She also sincerely thanked Rudells the Jewellers for their continued support in sponsoring the prizes, which looked fantastic on the prize table. Dottie then gave us all information on Rene Greey and how she came to give a trophy for the winners. "Rene (Sutton Coldfield Ladies GC) was the first Warwickshire junior to play for the County, way back in 1920's and was British Girl's Champion in 1926, before becoming County Captain in 1962. During this year, she presented the County with their first official flag, and also donated the cup for this event." Dottie also thanked Hanora White for all the hard work and effort she had put into County business over the past 6 years, as she is now retiring from the position of County Competition Secretary.

Pictured is Elizabeth Earnshaw, County President who presented the prizes to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd winners.
