During the 1st day of the 36 hole County Championship, players can also register to play for the Silver & Bronze Division Trophies, Medal and Stableford rounds respectively,over 18 holes. Ladbrook Park Golf Club again was the venue for these competitions, played on Monday 30th April 2012. Weather was good on the day, but after the terrific storms of the previous week and particularly the previous day, we all wondered whether the course would be playable.....
The Greens staff did not let us down and all games were played on time. In the Silver Division some 52 players with handicaps from 1 to 20 had entered the 18 hole competition including those who were playing the Championship of 36 holes, where their first round counted.
The Silver Division winner was Katrina GANI (Shirley GC) whose morning medal score of 78 Gross, 72 Net, with Runner-up Helen Dellow (Stoneleigh Deer Park GC) finishing with 80 Gross and 73 Net.
There were 16 players with handicaps of 21 to 36 in the Bronze Division Trophy, a Stableford competition over 18 holes. Val STENE (Kenilworth GC) was the winner with a fantastic 36 points with Judy HADFIELD runner up with 29 points.
