Ashley Crammond has just returned for the World U11s where she put up a very creditable performance. The excellent Lea Marston Par 3 course is a very good test of golf and the U11s is open to all players who can show competency on a course but for the young junior with a handicap, its only nine holes and any mistake can be very costly. Ashely took a bogey at the two most difficult holes but she came to the 9th needing a par for a 29 (gross). A par would have put the ever-smiling Ashley in a play-off at worst – she took five, going over the green with her tee shot.
Nathan was playing with Hannah McLoughlin in the last pairing on the course. It was a par par birdie start by Ray which took him well clear of the Belfry (and Sutton) starlet only for Nathan to then take a treble at the 4th to leave them tied.
However, Nathan then reeled off five pars to finish giving him the second U11s title.
In 4th place was the very impressive Lauren Taylor, who has just started playing golf.
Prizes were presented by Darren Lewis, senior Professional at Lea Marston, and thanks go to the Hotel for all their support for this competition, and to Dick Ferry for his help on the Day.
