Hit the Green for Macmillan
- Monday, 5 April, 2004
"Even for me competing four rounds of golf in one day would be no easy task. I take my hat off to anyone hitting the green and having a go."
"Its easy to get involved - simply encourage your friends, golf partner or work colleagues to team up and take on the challenge. The money you raise will enable Macmillan to support more people who have cancer from the moment of diagnosis and right through their cancer journey. Practice your swing and sign up today for The Longest Day Challenge."
Men, Ladies and Juniors are eligible to take part in the event and can play alone, in pairs, three or fourballs, in any combination and at any course of their choice. Determination and stamina are all that is required to walk 20 miles, play 72 holes and hit over 300 shots in one day.
For participants entering a team of three golfers there is also the chance of winning a trip to St Andrews, the home of Golf. The three top scoring teams will be the guests of the St Andrews Bay Golf Resort and Spa and will compete on the demanding Torrance course for the Longest Day Challenge Champion Team 2004.
The money raised by golfers will help fund Macmillan nurses, doctors and healthcare professionals, cancer care centres, information services and direct financial help to those who need it most.
