The foursomes went to Warwickshire 4-1, with some very impressive sub par golf (low) from two of the pairings -

'The result shows the importance of the foursomes', said Graham, 'I am very happy with the pairings.

'I was going to break up a couple (of pairings) but that would have given me two untried foursomes so I kept the three who have already shown what they can do, and the Billy Nicolson and Russell Heritage combination was fine, as was the pairing of Rory (Kirwan) and David (Hayes).'

Over at Edgbaston, Nick Clifford was able to call on the services of a couple of players who were very much in Graham's consideration for the 1sts, as Graham had a very hard job in deciding the 10 players he would use from 12 who were very much in consideration. Against some very dogged Worcs play, the Seconds were level at 3 matches apiece at Edgbaston.

Warwickshire started the singles as impressively as they had finished the morning - returning to the 1sts for the first time this Summer, Rob Steele birdied the first and second holes and would run out a 5&4 winner against Worcs Captain Paul Scarratt.

The next three matches all went Warwickshire?s way with David Hayes winning 4&2 (David -4 on the afternoon), Andy Sullivan by 3&2 (6 birdies for Andy) and then in his debut for the First in a match, Rory Kirwan did has had done two days before when winning the Warwickshire Boys - produce five birdies and the rest pars to win 4&3.

The overall match was tied up with a winning birdie for Paul Randle on the 17th, for a 2&1 win.

The points kept on coming as Ben Stafford was two under par when he shook hands on the 17th and Andy Jones finished by the Clubhouse on the 15th green.

'I?m delighted' said Graham afterwards, 'I had ten guys out there who really wanted to play.

'It was a great debut as well for Rory - who showed just how good he is last Friday in the Boys.'

Over at Edgbaston, the match was nip and tuck. It ended up with Warwickshire winning the singles 6.5 to 5.5 for a one point win overall - still unbeaten!
