Your Captains and Your County Needs You

ENTER THE WARWICKSHIRE AMATEUR FOR A CHANCE TO PLAY IN THE COUNTY TEAMS THIS YEAR - We caught up with County Captain Dave Westwood and 2nds Captain Neville Gardner at the County Trials, and Dave's first request was for competitive players to make sure they enter the Amateur

'Players must enter the Amateur and put up a good show', said Dave, 'but if they haven't played for the County yet, they should get themselves known - come up at the Amateur and have a chat with me and Neville.'

'We have a really good squad this year', continued Dave,'Although we have lost Gareth (Jenkins - lots of new responsibilities) and Ian (Stranks - and new father in 2011), we have players such as Joe Harris, Elliott Forbes and Ryan Wallace knocking on the door and showing lots of promise.'

Neville Gardner has only the worries of completing a personal 'double' as 2nds Captain with another win in this years' 2nds League - plus the team size for these matches has been reduced from 12 to 10 making selection more difficult with so many quality players available.

If you haven't entered the Amateur yet, please do so asap - you only have until 4th May with the Championship at Maxstoke Park on Thursday 19th May
