We did lots of promotion and pre-planning, using both our new web site www.warkwickshiregolf.com and the contact list of all our club representatives, to such effect that up until the evening before the event I had 75 pairs entered - unfortunately one pair had to withdraw due to a domestic emergency. The day had been planned for the 74 pairs that remained.

Event admin was in place by 7.30am and Starters briefed and ready for the first tee-offs at 8.15 (my thanks to the Menzies Welcombe!)

All competitors apart from one turned up.

All played golf!

The AM division had 44 pairs.

The PM Division had 30 pairs which included our President John Jewsbury and Steven Creed, the Captain of the Welcombe, Scott Deacon and his guest Murray Macleod.

Presentation took place approx 19.50 hours, allowing time for the Overall winners of the trophy to return from the AM division.

Runnersup: Stuart Jones / Scott Elwood Pype Hayes GC - 41 pts (bb6 15 pts)

Third Place: Richard Hyde / Ivan Merrick Pype Hayes GC - 41 pts

NPin in 2 Hole 7: Murray Macleod The Welcombe GC

All competitors were given the opportunity to have their say via a survey. Approx 50% of the surveys were completed. I will compile a report on these.

A twos competition was held and 125 competitors entered it at £ 2.00 so £ 250 collected and paid out to 10 lucky players who recorded a 2, all getting £ 25.00 each.

David Morgan came to take photographs which went down well. The trophy is currently in my possession I will speak to Matt Nixon, our County Secretary, about were this can be kept until next year.

The winners received a logo-ed whiskey cut glass as a memento.

Please note that both events known as the Spring meeting and the Autumn meeting, I stated at the presentations that both events needed a new focus. I felt that the Vice Presidents Bowl and the Jack Urry Cup, needed to be advertised as the trophies competitors will compete for in the future.

This was agreed so the Spring and Autumn meetings are the former, these events to be recognised as above.
