With the Boys Team winning the Midland Title, it’s a second Midland Championship will be on display at the 2004 County Dinner in November, together with the individual win for Rob Steele in the Midland Amateur.
The Trophy that will be presented at the Dinner is for the 1st Team Championship. Andy Kearns at Team Warwickshire had a very successful start and will look to build on this year in 2005 so that Warwickshire can go into their Centenary year with our teams at the fore front of English Golf.
This week see the site report on the last European Tour event of 2004, the Volvo Masters. We will be following the progress of Paul Broadhurst who has shown a wonderful return to form. Its also a time when other past Warwickshire Amateurs will be looking to make progress in their Professional careers with Sam Walker, Tom Whitehouse and Jamie Elson both going back to Qualifying School in the middle of November.
The best of our County Boys are attending regular sessions with the two County Coaches, Neil McKewan and Andy Dunbar, throughout the Winter. There are also sessions for the Mens’ squads and there will be a special evening (to be confirmed) when all the best players will be able to learn about the complete package of fitness, tuition and psychology – this will be announced shortly.
To cap all this, there will be news very soon of our new County Secretary, to replace John Stubbings.
