They kept that advantage until lunch, adding another hole with one of the two birdies they made on the back nine. The afternoon was much tougher as Browning and Stafford pegged the Coventy pair back with some under par golf themselves. When the match finished on the 14th, Coventry were –4 for those 14 holes.

They were nearly not finalists though as against Atherstone, the regaultion 18 holes were all square andn it need another birdie at the 19th for Coventry to go through.
There was also some spectacular scoring earlier on in the competition when Hayes and Cryer were –8 after 11 holes.
