Introducing John Jewsbury.

John has been nominated for the Chairmanship of Junior Golf, a nomination to be endorsed at the Warwickshire Union AGM on March 17th at Copt Heath Golf Club. John and his family have been very active in the Union for some years and he is looking forward to being part of a new set-up for managing an ever growing Junior section and its responsibilities.

Introducing John, Warwickshire Union President Jim Dean said –

‘We realise that for the last four Junior Organisers, they have been responsible for everything. Now, there are the Championships, the U18s, the U16s and the U14s and the Coaching.

‘There needs to be at least two representatives of the Junior Committee at each event and now we have the set up to do so.

‘And of course, our retiring Secretary John Stubbings was involved with Junior Golf for so long – indeed he ran the Juniors for a good number of years.’

John will have a new structure all together, people working with him with specific responsibilities (this new management will be introduced at the AGM in March).

‘I am looking at the position as a blank sheet of paper.

‘I want to see what needs doing before introducing my plans for the future.’

As soon as John has in place his new team, we will be able to report on the plans for this year and beyond – the first trophy being defended the Boys Four Counties at Moor hall Gc on the weekend of 23rd and 24th April.
