Sullivan and Browning won in Match 1 in the morning foursomes and a half a point came from the Rugby Juniors Dale Marson and Neil Taylor. Warwickshire lost the next two matches though and it was ‘new boys’ Rory Kirwan and Ben Bernamont who levelled the scores before lunch.

After Sullivan won 6&4 in the singles, Warwickshire lost the next two matches. That was the last time that Worcestershire would hold the lead. Jack Sant, Chris Doughill, Neil Taylor all won and were soon followed back to the clubhouse by more Warwickshire points from John Banbury, Steve Mumford and Rory Kirwan. That left Ben Bernamont out on the course, eventually losing his match on the 18th.

Worcestershire were missing two players who were asked to play in a South West strokeplay event by the EGU. Having won the Midland Junior League title for the last two years, the 4 Counties for the past five years and with a top 2 place last year in the 10 Counties qualifier (plus the best single performance), Warwickshire players must be very close to being considered for EGU squads.
