There are two courses at Fairmont St Andrews, the first, The Kittocks ( formerly the Devlin course) , has been renamed named after the area of land which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest, has a marvellous array of wildlife, and is blessed with fantastic views over the sea and inland toward the Grampian Mountains.

Both Kittocks and the Torrance have been the subject of major redesign work, under the auspices of architect Gary Stephenson, and the stars came for the formal opening of the course.

Ian Wright and Lee Dixon, former Arsenal favourites, who now grace the seats in the commentary box, showed that they are no mean performers on the golf course as well as on the football pitch. There was a reminder of the history of 'The Auld Town' as Old Tom Morris also known as David Joy, came to add the authentic touch to the rebirth of the golf course, built on land which reminded Gene Saracen of Pebble Beach in California.

The photographs show the stars in action, and Old Tom trying out his putting skills, watched over by his caddy. The compliments flowed as the players tested their skills on the course which is host to the European Seniors Tour Scottish Open in August, and will feature as a Qualifying Course for The Open Championship when it returns to The Old Course St Andrews in 1020.
