Legendary Brummie comedian Jasper Carrott visited the show on its last day, in support of children?s charity SPARKS, and was impressed with what he saw.

Carrott said: 'The show's terrific, it's my first time as I missed last year but I sincerely hope it'll be a regular event here.

'I'm impressed with the amount of products on offer, I've even been given a few things - thank you very much, I'll be back!

'There's plenty here and the more people that come the more it will expand - you could be getting 30,000 plus here.

'The crowds are busy but it?s not solid, you're not queuing up to get on everything.

'I think they've got it right on the button and I really do wish them all the success in the world. I'm all for it, it's great.'

Snooker player Willie Thorne, who attended in his role as an ambassador for TaylorMade, was equally impressed, saying:

'The show's great. I?ve had a walk round, been to a lot of different stands and there are allsorts ranging from clubs to little gizmos.

'It's been nice to look at all the stands, I've really enjoyed it.

'When I was coming in the queue to get in was amazing, I think it's going to get bigger and better now year on year.'

And while the snooker star enjoyed looking at the stands, the people on them had just as good a time.

Tim Stephens, Nike Golf's area sales rep, said: 'The show's been good, we've had a constant throughput of people for all three days and some really keen golfers.

'We've had a lot of knowledgeable golfers as well which is really good for a golf show so we've been very pleased with how it's gone.'

Yonex's UK sales and marketing manager, Dominic Bone, echoed these sentiments, saying: 'It's been great, we've been totally packed out every day.

'We launched the new VMX range at the show it was the first place in the world that people could hit the product and I think we've actually sold out in the shop, it's been brilliant.'

But it wasn?t just the manufacturers that were doing well, exhibitors from all areas of golf were reporting enjoying a very successful show.

Andrew Harding, Your Golf Travel.com?s managing director, said:

'It's been fabulous.

'The first day was fantastic, loads of people coming from all over the country, the second day was very busy as well and today [Sunday] has just blown me away.

'It's easily the busiest day of any show I've ever been to in terms of golf exhibitions and I?ve just been staggered by the variety of people that have come from all over the country.'

And the public were equally enthusiastic in their praise for the show.

Paul Johnson, 42, travelled up from Bedfordshire with his family and felt it had been well worth the trip, he said: 'We?ve spent all day here and have liked it a lot. My son Guy is the golfer and he wants to come back tomorrow.

'We tried out loads of clubs and american golf are almost giving stuff away.'

Hereford?s Corinne Worsley, 48, added: 'We've spent the whole day here and there?s been plenty to keep us occupied.'
