Both teams are in action again this weekend. The 1sts play Leicestershire at Walmley, starting at 10am whilst the 2nds are away at Cosby starting at 9.30am. Both teams would very much appreciate support from local (or near-by Warwickshire golfers) and you are sure to see some top quality golf.

However, the most important competition will be at Gay Hill where our Boys Team will be attempting to take a tenth successive Four Counties title. Our team may not have the apparent strength of previous sides but they are all geared up to continue this most impressive of winning sequences.

The Team is -

Ryan Wallace[Capt] [Handsworth]

Jamie Carney [Shirley]

Nathan Ray [Maxstoke Park]

Michael Pell [Olton]

George Allen [ Shirley]

Ben Stokes [Wamley]

Sam Teather[ Walmley]

Adam Lumley [Coventry]

Reserve: Jack Ronan [Walmley]

As their warm-up, the Junior Team played perennial east Midlands competition in the form on Nottinghamshire. That match again came down to a singles recovery and some impressive wins from players who came into the side at late notice. For a full report CLICK

The present weather forecast for Sunday may be inclement but its fine for Saturday and all support on both days would be very much appreciated by a team who are playing for history just as much as for the result this year. The teams includes players who were unable to show how good they are last year because of the very low handicaps of last year's incumbents - every supporter will be welcome so pack up your brolleys and water-proofs for Sunday to cheer them on!
