'I was down only once', said the repeat champion, 'The wind didn't promote good golf.

'It was who could scramble. You (anyone0 struggle to hit greens that are that small.'

Sullivan was one up after the first eighteen and held on to his lead to take a third matchplay title in a row. He now plays in the Whem Bowl and then the first round of the Midland League Matchplay next weekend, before spending the next week getting ready for the British Amatuer.

The quarter finals were a varied affair. Andy Sullivan was just too good for Jack Sant on the day, whilst Rob Browning took advantage of a couple of short game errors from Chris Dougill.

At the same time Tom Ibbertson lost an early four-up lead on Steven Creed before easing through to face Sullivan. Andy then there was Dave Westwood -

'My back is bad again. I'm playing dreadful - some real rubbish', said Westwood on the 13th tee facing a three down problem against Steve Brown.

Told of Lee Trevino's quote beware an injured golfer, a Westwood birdie there was the start of his fight-back and in the Semi-Finals he disposed of his fellow 1st teamer Browning 2&1

Sullivan was 2 down after 7 against Ibbertson before finding his game -

'I started holing a few putts', said Andy of why he eventually won 4&3 to set up the final.
