Gaz continues to perform at a very high standard for the seconds. He maintains a reputation of being a gritty competitor who has an all round solid game.

Gaz is forever tinkering with his equipment I doubt he has the same 14 clubs in his bag for anything more than a couple of weeks! His garage must be full of nearly new putters, drivers, wedges and bags!

Karl is another first team squad member who has played two matches for me. Karl is an exceptional foursomes player as he showed when he won this year's Bainbridge shield and also the Finney shield.

His hardest foursomes match of the year, however, was at Church Stretton when he had to carry me to victory! An all round good bloke, I am delighted that Karl has accepted my invitation to be my vice-Captain.

Freemo is another off of Ladbrook's conveyor belt of good golfers. He was part of the Ladbrook team that won the team shield at this year's Amateur. With his brisk swing Chris hits the ball miles (he is a Ladbrook lasher after all!) as he demonstrated at Chevin where his partner hit a 9 iron second shot into the closing par 5 of 522 yards.

Chris can be regularly seen on the 'Compare the Market.com' adverts on television!

Gareth Jenkins (The Warwickshire) and Richard Oddy (Coventry Finham) are both first team squad players and happily represented the seconds when they were not selected for the firsts. The last player pictures is Paul Walker (Atherstone) has been a second team regular for the past few seasons but only played the one match this season
