This year, I have selected a team of players (all + handicap golfers) who are all in fantastic form, have experience of playing in this event in years gone by, have proven performance records in other national events, and have games that suit the tests of the Hotchkin course. The team is as follows :

Matt Cryer, Rob Steele, David Hayes, Bill Nicolson, Chris Evans, Paul Randle and Ben Senior as travelling reserve.

This is an excellent team that has been taken from an excellent squad of Warwickshire players - there are a number of players who could also probably have turned out and performed well, but perhaps who were a little less experienced in this kind of pressurised event or were slightly out of form. It’s been a difficult task to pick this 7 man squad, but I think that the players we have are all well equipped to handle the pressure and turn out a collectively winning performance.

I don’t have much more to say except, we will be doing our utmost to perform to our potential and put Warwickshire back on the golfing map at both a midland and national level by winning this tournament.

If anybody does get the opportunity to make the long trip to Woodhall to support the team, not only will they be guaranteed of seeing some fantastic golf, but they will also be playing their part for Team Warwickshire in what promises to be a thrilling event.
