A Very Happy Christmas

This month warskgolf is just as full of features as it is during the Golf season – which in the case of 2004 was very successful for both the Warwickshire Union and the Warwickshire County Ladies Association. Reviews of some of the best performances during the year will be posted during the Christmas to New Year week but in the run up to the festive season, there are 25 new features for you to read and coming next week an exclusive interview with Peter McEvoy.

For those looking for a Christmas present, we have reviewed five golf books from Human Kinetics, including a guide to starting golf and a brilliant book about Golf for the O50s which would be really appreciated by anyone. Improve your putting or getting fit for golf are two of the other titles but if you want to play professionally and don’t have the time, then why not have Tiger Woods PGA 2005 to hand – our review is now on the site.

If you want to get away, next month sees lots of holiday features including visiting South Africa, the Isle of White, a new hotel in Sotogrande, Ireland, and a great web site for finding rental property. This month, our features are perhaps more about short breaks with a look at Botley Park in Hampshire and closer to home, the 4* facilities at Hellidon Lakes.

There is also a short guide to some of the best romantic destinations in Scotland, where you can play golf as well as enjoy luxury hotels and astonishing views, just like some Hollywood film stars.

Reducing stress is something that we all want and there is a feature on Q-Link. Q-Link has been used by many sports stars and this year, a certain Ross Drummond won his maiden European Tour event, the Volvo PGA Championship, just weeks after he started to wear a Q-Link bracelet. For Christmas perhaps, and definitely for 2005, Etonic have just unveiled their new technology shoes – full detail in ‘Features’.

If you are a low handicap junior golf, looking perhaps to go to University to study and improve, you don’t have to go to the US. There is news of a new state-of-the-art golf facility at Sterling University.

In the Warwickshire Men’s section, this next week sees the first of a two part interview with one of the greats of Warwickshire (and England and GB & I) golf, Peter McEvoy.
