The Boys Championship (Gross)

The Girls Championship (Gross)

The winners of the Boys and Girls Championships will be offered a place at the Midland Schools on FRIDAY 2nd JUNE 2006 at Market Drayton GC, Shropshire. This is a 36 holes Gross Medal with the Top 9 Boys* and the Top 5 Girls* on the day being invited to the England Schools Championships.

These will be on MONDAY 26th JUNE 2006 NASUWT sponsored ENGLISH SCHOOLS? NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS Belton Park Golf Club, Lincolnshire. The Top 12 Boys* and 6 Girls* at the National Championships will play in at least one match for England later in the 2006 season and win an England Cap

Warwickshire can send a team of four boys and two or three girls to the Midland Schools Championships, plus (when available) 'wildcard' players*. The teams and wildcards are selected by the Warwickshire Schools Management and will be announced either at the Prize presentations or shortly afterwards. (* numbers and handicap restrictions are subject to confirmation)

The 'Wales' Trophy (nett - Best Boy or Girl)

The best nett score by a Boy will enable his home club to enter the McPartlin Trophy for Warwickshire. The club will do so by selecting three boys from its Junior membership and inviting three boys, from any other club in the Warwickshire Union, to play the Warwickshire round of the McPartlin at their course before 1st September. The McPartlin is for mid range handicappers only and a host club MUST select boys whose handicaps are within the limits specified on the day they play our round (this could mean that the boy whose achievements in the Nett Trophy of the Warwickshire Schools won his club the opportunity to host cannot be in the team).

The competition is the total of all six players, over 18 holes using Nett stabelford scores off full handicap. The host club must send the completed cards, plus a photo of the team, to the Warwickshire Schools Management. They will then be submitted to the ESGA and the winners of the McPartlin Trophy will be the County with the highest total of stabelford scores. There will be plaques and certificates for the Champions.

For the Best Nett Girl, the same will apply but for the Girls, the team will be three girls, two from the home ('host') club and with one girl invited to make up the Warwickshire team.

The U16s Shield

(open to players who are U16 as of the day of the English Schools U16s to be held at Chevin Golf Club, Derbyshire on MONDAY 17th JULY 2006) and who, if able to play, are automatically issued invitations to the English Schools U16s

This Trophy goes to the best gross by a player (Boy or Girl) who fulfils the qualification as above. There are handicap restrictions for entrants who are not County U16s Champions and for who spaces may be available. Other possible participants will be informed of the opportunities at the prize giving.

The Schools Team Championship

Where any schools or college has three or more players entered (can be a mixed team), a team will be formed from the three lowest handicaps of players unless otherwise advised before the start of the championship. Each player's score will be calculated as a stabelford off full handicap from the medal card that players must compete for the individual championships. The team championship will go to the school or college with the best three stabelford score total.

That School or College will also be offered the opportunity to represent Warwickshire in the English schools Team Championships on WEDNESDAY 9th AUGUST 2006 at Clitheroe Golf Club, Lancashire. They will have until 1st May to accept the place. The School or College DOES NOT have to use the same three players who play in the Warwickshire Schools 2006. If the place is not taken up by the winning School, it will be offered to the runners-up.

There are a limited number of additional tee-times for the 2006 Schools. To ask about availability, you MUST contact David Morgan on 07957 361053 by 6pm on Friday 7th April. No entries will be considered after this date and time.
