The 2006 JUNIOR ORDER OF MERIT - April Update
The 2006 Junior Order of Merit is nearly ready to go, with just a small technical change needed to the scoring system on this web site to finish, and the uploading of all the registered clubs and their Juniors. This will be completed in the next few days, in time for clubs to put on Club points won by their players in April, but as a 'taster' of what the first month's table will look like, you can download a results sheet for the points already won in Warwickshire Championships in this article.

The events on the 2006 schedule played so far are the Warwickshire Schools, the U12s and the Boys Trials. With two nett wins, Jonathan Bryan has 'devastated' his handicap and won over 1500 JoM points to lead by barely a hundred points from one of the youngest competitors, Maxwell Martin, who is a Shirley member like Bryan.

In third place is the Boys Trials winner Andrew Geraghty, who seems not to be able to stop winning himself. The other player with over 100 points is John Banbury from Moor Hall.

The points awarded are subject to checking. Players who are not registered will not be listed when the JoM goes 'live' so do check if your club has included you when they joined the JoM.

IF YOU ARE NOT REGISTERED OR YOUR CLUB HAS NOT YET JOINED THE JOM, YOU WILL NOT UNFORTUNATELY BE ABLE TO HAVE THESES POINTS INCLUDED EVEN IF YOUR CLUB JOINS THE JOM LATER.

Many Juniors already registered have not yet played in a listed event. Their club points will soon put them onto the JoM table, if not towards the higher reaches of the list. Only some 17% of the total points available from Warwickshire Union events have been awarded in the three Championships played so entry into any of the three remaining WU Junior Championships should be a priority.

The Junior Opens which are part of the 2006 JoM are also a 'must' and many of them have entry forms available by clicking 'Competitions' on the LHS navigation. There will be an update of those with entry forms in the coming few days, so check back if you have already used this facility - you will find more forms available.

This is just the start of the season. If you are not featuring yet, you have plenty more opportunities. Get practising!
