RYDALE BACKS COUNTY GOLFERS
Rydale Cars, the BMW and MINI dealer flagship in Birmingham city centre has announced its sponsorship of the Warwickshire Ladies County Golf Championship to be held at Ladbrook Park GC from 9 - 11 May 2006. The blue ribbon event in the ladies county golf calendar will be highly contested and has attracted a host of present and past international golfers to enter for the title.

Defending champion is Tracy Atkin, the former international and professional who will be looking to retain her crown after winning last year's final against former Curtis Cup Captain and Irish International, Claire Dowling from Copt Heath Golf Club.

All eyes will also be on 18 year old Felicity Johnson, the current English Champion from Harborne whose set her sights on being picked for the Curtis Cup team this year. She is joined by a host of other young talented players, including Charlotte Dalton from Ladbrook Park GC and Hannah Coles from Maxstoke Park GC. The county is also welcoming former Hertfordshire county player Kerry Evans who makes her debut in Warwickshire this year as a two handicap golfer.

Warwickshire has once again set its sights high for the forthcoming season under the leadership of Anne Parry, County Captain.

As she explained: "Over the last three years we have enjoyed phenomenal success and as a team we are both mentally and physically much stronger. We also have strength and depth to the squad this year with a mass of young emerging talent, which all bodes well for the county?s future development and success."
