Warwickshire Girls fortunes at the English Girls Championships
The English U18 Girls Championship was staged at Kings Norton last week. Hannah Coles (5) qualified 14th overall with a 77 & 76 to earn a place in the first flight playoffs and lost in the second round to Ellie Givens (1). Charlotte Dalton (5) & Abbey Gittings (5) qualified for the second flight after opening rounds of 79. Abbey lost in the 1st round but Charlotte battled through the first day, winning on the 19th & then the 20th holes, only to succumb in the next round.

Meanwhile the U15 & U13 Championships were being played at Kidderminster. Alice Young qualified for the final day in the U15 section, and turned in a good result in a field of predominantly lower handicap players. Three made it to the fourth round in the U13 competition.

Hannah McLoughlin (14) & Lauren Taylor (12) qualified 14th & 12th respectively, Hannah producing two rounds of 83 and Lauren two of 84 to finish with the same overall scores after the four days.

Elizabeth Mallett (12) played in the final group in the final round, lying in second place. Elizabeth played to single figures all three days to be just 4 shots behind the leader Alexandra Peters (6). Despite playing to single figures again Elizabeth couldn't catch the on form winner but secured second place.
