Nathan Ray handed in gross rounds of 80 and 74 off a handicap of 7 for Nett 140, his second round of 67 giving him the Nett prize on countback. It could have been a few shots better as Nathan had an 8 on the par five 16th in R1and this was more good form after Nathan's third place (gross) in the U14s.
Nathan will have many more years to win the U14s, the U16s and of course the Boys title and he is sure to pick up at least one of these titles such is his progression up the Junior ranks.
The Runner-up for the Nett prize was Maxwell Martin whose handicap is heading for single figures at some speed. Maxwell will still be able to retain the U12s for at least a couple of years and he looks very much a player of the calibre of the young Sam Walker who at age 12 was already part of the Boys team. Maxwell has had a busy summer including the World U11s which was played at Pinehurst where Max came a very creditable 17th!
