NEW WEBSITE FOR BESPOKE GOLF HOLIDAYS IN PEMBROKESHIRE
Pembrokeshire, on the tip of south west Wales, has launched a new website for golfers, www.GolfPembrokeshire.com, which enables users to select from a number of pre-set packages and special offers, or use the various options to build a bespoke golfing break. Any combination from all the county's eight golf courses and seventeen featured accommodation providers can be put together to suit the individual.

The entire 186 mile Pembrokeshire coastline lies within Britain?s only coastal National Park. Spectacular scenery with soaring cliffs, golden beaches and harbour inlets makes a wonderful natural stage for memorable golfing holidays.

As golfers walk the fairways of the county's links courses, there is a good chance of glimpsing seals, dolphins and porpoises all year round, so binoculars are essential part of the Pembrokeshire golfer's kit!

Golfer's can choose from links courses at Newport and Tenby, Wales' oldest registered course; mature parkland courses at Haverfordwest, Milford Haven and South Pembrokeshire golf clubs, and challenging nine-hollers including Prissily Forest and St Davids, which occupies a superb coastal location overlooking Whitesands beach. The most recent addition is Trefloyne, a parkland course near Tenby opened in 1996 but already well known for its quality and friendliness.

Accommodation options include the newly refurbished, contemporary St Brides Spa Hotel, Saundersfoot; Lamphey Court Hotel, a superb Georgian mansion near Pembroke, and Celtic Haven, near Tenby which offers luxury apartments on a self-cater or serviced basis. All three have their own spas while Celtic Haven also has a Golf Academy featuring a nine-hole practice course, plus a further 38 championship courses from around the world on its indoor computerised simulator - ideal for learners or improvers!

There are options to suit all budgets and tastes from town centre hotels in Haverfordwest, Tenby and Fishguard to idyllic rural retreats such as Slebech Park, Crug-Glas Country House and Gellifawr Country Hotel, which is situated in the enchanting Gwaun Valley. Two of the golf clubs, Newport and Priskilly Forest, have on-course accommodation allowing guests to roll out of bed and straight on to the golf course! (Newport's accommodation is opening spring 2007).

The GolfPembrokeshire website also has links to local places of interest, such as Oakwood, Wales' premier theme park; Pembroke Castle, birthplace of King Henry VII and Castell Henllys, a reconstructed Iron Age hill fort. All these venues provide a great 'day off' during a golf break or options for non-playing partners.

A recent convert to the Pembrokeshire golf experience was snooker legend Steve Davis, who took time out from the Texaco Charity Snooker Challenge at Folly Farm to play Tenby and Trefloyne courses. 'You should always take a chance and go off the beaten track, where you find hidden gems', said the six-time world champion. He was joined by fellow professionals Dominic Dale, Matthew Stevens, John Parrot, Joe Swail and ex-pro and current BBC commentator Willie Thorne, who commented, 'I've really enjoyed my golfing weekend in Pembrokeshire and I shall definitely be coming back'.
