| The morning play started at 9.30 but play was slow as Ramsdale Park was busy with its members, as well as this match. The 2007 Boys Captain Sam Dodds started proceedings with Daniel Baskott. They were 2 up with just a handful to play only to go all square at the 17th, then lose the 18th.
It was the only loss.
Rob Bardsley and James Smith were 4dn after just 8. They reversed that to win 2&1, the same winning margin for James Hale & Andrew Geraghty and Adam Ferraro & Michael McCormack.
Jamie Carney and Charlie Higgins won 4&3 but the biggest win of the day came from Andrew Bate and Phil Wastell by the margin of 7&5.
It was 1.30pm before all the morning matches were finished. the course had been hit by two blizzards so it was decided to try to play 9 hole singles. When more wintry weather hit, that plan was abandoned and the match called off.
The Warwickshire Team for the 4 Counties will not be decided until the practice round for the round-robin between Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Staffordshire and Gloucs, a trophy we have won for the past six years. Performance in the Schools and the Boys Trials will also be taken into account and entry forms are available now, with closing dates rapidly approaching. Juniors who have left school are able to play in the Schools as a guest.
Both the Schools and the Boys Trials are counting events for the 2007 Junior Order of Merit
