The Draw for the 2007 Bainbridge Shield
The 2007 golf season starts with the draw for the Bainbridge Shield, the inter-club foursomes competition for the 52 Warwickshire Union member clubs. For the 2007 draw CLICK HERE. Click on 'MORE' to find out about the highlights of the first round clashes

One of the first highlights of the R1 draw is Copt Heath A vs the Warwickshire A, a match to be played at The Warwickshire. The latter have had some foursomes success in recent years - notably last year's Warwickshire Cup win (and they are in this Saturday's final of the Cup on the 24th). Their 'A' team Captain is Ian Stranks who has been part of our best teams for some years. Captaining Copt Heath A is a player who is returning to County level golf, the hugely talented Peter Chalkley, once Warwickshire 1st Captain and multiple winner of championships.

Harborne Golf Club has a tradition of foursomes golf (it is the annual host club for the Midland Amateur Foursomes Championship, the Finney Shield). Their 'A' team take on the 2005 finalists Atherstone A.

There is a north-of-the-county match of local rivalry where Moor Hall A take on much 'younger' very near neighbors Wishaw A.

Finally very close to the bottom fo the draw, the 'A' teams of Ladbrook and Sutton Coldfield will be pitted against each other.

For the smooth running of this championship, would all teams ensure they play matches by the due date and notify the County Secretary as soon as each result is known.
