| Ryder Cup Wales 2010, whose presence is helping nurture a fresh wave of Welsh talent, are also sponsoring the season opening Welsh Open Young PGA Professional Championship at Aberdovey (24 and 25 April), the Welsh Open PGA Championship which returns to Chepstow's Marriott St Pierre (7 - 9 August) and the WPGA One Day Series.
The prospect of Cardiff hosting the National Championship again has been welcomed by the club's professional Terry Hanson who believes the ? 42,500 tournament will help put the club back on the map.
Hanson said: 'The course has been good enough to host one for a while now and to finally get to stage this event is brilliant. It will definitely put Cardiff Golf Club back on the map. The city has grown around the course, and we are very much a city course - we're only 10 minutes from the Millennium Stadium, and I think a lot of people forgot the course was even here.'
The championship takes place from 4 - 6 September where Sion Bebb, European Tour commitments permitting, will be out to claim a hat-trick of wins.
All proceeds from the official tournament pro-am on Monday 3 September will be donated to Ryder Cup Wales' official charity Tenovus. Project Co-ordinator for Tenovus, Cath Morgan, said 'This link with Ryder Cup Wales and the PGA is a great boost for Tenovus. It's thanks to the support of such partnerships that Tenovus can not only raise funds but help raise the charity's profile.'
Meanwhile, the ? 30,000 Welsh Open PGA Championship is again being held at Marriott St Pierre where resident pro Craig Dun is promising the course will be in even better shape than when Liam Bond lifted the inaugural title last year.
'The course is in perfect condition and will be even better than last year,' said Dun.
Finally, hopes are high for another gripping finale to next month's the ? 7,500 Welsh Open Young PGA Professional Championship which gets underway.
Adam Constable claimed the title last year but only after the dramatic intervention of Aberdovey's clubhouse roof which saved an errant approach shot from scooting out of bounds on the last.
The Cardiff-based pro, who clung on to win by a shot from Upton-on-Chester's Richard Bean, will be back to defend his crown at the historic Aberdovey links where new course changes mean it has all the ingredients for another classic.
Stephen Cox, PGA Director of Golf said: 'Thanks to the support of Ryder Cup Wales 2010 we're once again able to provide another high class schedule of Welsh events and we look forward to building on the success of last year.'
Rob Holt, Chief Executive of Ryder Cup Wales, commented, 'Ryder Cup Wales is delighted to partner the PGA at these events as part of our annual Summer of Golf programme which we deliver as part of our commitments in the successful Ryder Cup bid. The Summer of Golf has transformed the golfing calendar throughout Wales which features fantastic golf events and attracts world class players.'
