| The CMS was started around 1970 and it produces significant revenue to augment how the County supports Team Matches and Coaching expenses, particularly for the Juniors - without this extra income the County would have to restrict support to our Teams and since our Lads have represented the County with significant success in recent times the County wants to to maintain if not increase its support.
What does it cost to join the CMS and what will you get every year?
The cost of Membership is ? 5 annually, paid by Standing Order or preferably by Direct Debit. If you would like a County Membership Tie (complete with Warwickshire County Logo) it costs an extra ? 5.00. Life Membership is available at a cost of ? 35 (a bargain with Tie included!).
As a County Member you can play in the two annual CMS days - the Spring and the Autumn Meetings -
For 2007 he Spring Meeting will be at Olton Golf Club on Tuesday 22nd May 2007
The Autumn Meeting will be at Shirley Golf Club on Thursday 13th September 2007.
The Dick Squires Cup will be at Ingon Manor on Wed. 19th September 2007.
The Dick Squires Cup - what is it?
Each year your club can nominate a Club event, or create a Special event, where CMS members at your club can qualify to play in the Dick Squires Cup. Your club puts ? 2.00 a head (from this competition) to fund your Club's entry into the Dick Squires Cup. The Winners and Runners up in your local Competion qualify to play in the Cup Final and their names should be forwarded to Jim Dean< amanger of the CMS, ASAP. Think of it as an inter-Club Championship for everyday Club members, not the players with very small handicaps!
And as for the two annual meetings - they are always pairs competitions with lots of prizes (this year the Spring Meeting will be for the Top 7) PLUS the top three pairs at both meetings will automatically go forward to the Dick Squires Cup.
So see your Secretary for details of the CMS. If they do not manage the CMS for your Club, they will know whom you should go to.
If you want to enter the Spring Meeting (if you are already a member - if not you need to join first - see below!), then the Entry forms are HERE.

As for the County Card Scheme - for just ? 12.00 a year you will receive a special card which entitles you to play at half price OR LESS at more than 90courses in Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Staffordshire, Nottinghamshire and Northants, with more course and counties to come.
It is SUPERB value. Your club has to be a member of the CSS for you to become a card holder. If your club is a member of the scheme, then just see your Secretary for your County Card. With just one visit to another course, you can pay for the cost of the card itself and the CSS is open to both Men and Ladies.
