Sporting A New Look At St.Andrews Golf Hotel
The St.Andrews Golf Hotel, situated in the historic town of St.Andrews, is in the throws of a major refurbishment to renovate and upgrade facilities at the hotel. The Hotel is undergoing extensive work to renovate the public areas, restaurant and bar along with the bedrooms, giving the hotel a fresh and modern interior. Managing Director, Justin Hughes commented:

'We are delighted with the renovations, which will offer guests modern facilities while retaining period elegance. It is important that the St.Andrews Golf Hotel meets and exceeds the needs of our guests and the renovation works will provide all the modern comforts within a traditional and stylish environment.'

Amy Schellenberg, Interior Designer and Decorative Artist has overseen the interior fit out of the hotel, creating a contemporary yet classic feel. Amy has used decorative furniture from Julian Chichester along with modern lighting from CTO Lighting, specialists in contemporary decorative lighting as used by The Savoy, The Dorchester, Candy & Candy Ltd, Gordon Ramsey and Harrods to name but a few. Furniture has also been selected from Porada and Brabin & Fitz with wallpaper by Cole and Son and Brunschwig & Fils. Amy

'The unique surroundings, finishes and attention to detail will make the property speak for itself and stand out from the other hotels in the area.'

The renovations will be completed in time for Easter and the re-opening will also see the launch of the hotels new restaurant and bar which will be called Number 40. The hotel restaurant has won many accolades, including two AA rosettes and enjoys impressive views overlooking St.Andrews spectacular West Sands. Head Chef, Craig Hart utilises the wonderful local produce available, to create a menu which cleverly combines traditional Scottish cuisine with a modern twist.

The St.Andrews Golf Hotel combines the feel of a traditional Victorian town house with the luxury and comfort of sumptuous furnishings and fittings. The hotel overlooks the West Sands and golf courses and is an ideal base from which to explore the many attractions on offer in St Andrews. The hotel also offers conference and wedding facilities with a team of dedicated and experienced staff to handle events with a friendly and professional approach.
