| Silvertip's 'See Your Game' program is available to all golfers, at no charge. Located at the 10th tee box, golfers can sign up to have digital images taken of their swing. When they finish the 18th hole, golfers are then presented with eight frozen frames of their swing to take home and review. Then they are sent an email that directs them to a private, personalized space on Silvertip's superb website (pictured) that shows the actual video of their swing, along with a split screen of Stephen Ames. For ladies, their swing can be compared to Annika Sorensten as well.
'We see this as an interesting teaching tool,' says Silvertip's Director of Golf, Tim Zado. 'How often have you watched golf on television and wondered how your golf swing compares to the professionals? Now you will be able to see for yourself how you stack up against one of the world's best players.'
Endorsed by Canadian golf professional Stephen Ames, the 18-hole championship golf course was voted as one of Canada's best for golf scenery by SCORE Golf and rated 4.5 stars by Golf Digest. Designed by Les Furber, the course plays from 5,089 yards to 7,173 yards, making it ideal for people of different skill levels, from beginners and recreational golfers all the way to scratch players. The course features 600 feet of elevation change. Along with the on course golf experience, the new Timbers Clubhouse, the largest timber frame building built in Canada in over half a century, contains Rustica, Stoney's Grill, the Pro Shop, meeting facilities and a wine tasting bar.
Green fees at Silvertip range from Canadian Dollar 79.00 (US $72.00) for evening golf to CDN $ 175 (US$158.00) for a full round, depending on the season. Silvertip opens May 10th this year and is expected to remain open until mid October.
About Silvertip Resort:
Silvertip Resort is located in the spectacular Bow Valley, just outside the village of Canmore, Alberta, at the gateway to Banff National Park, approximately 100 kilometres west of downtown Calgary and about 25 kilometres east of the town of Banff.
Once complete, Silvertip Resort will be a combined golf, dining, hotel, conference centre, spa, wedding destination and a significant luxury residential real estate community, all in a stunning Rocky Mountain setting. Silvertip Resort is named for the grizzly bears, also known as silvertips, found in the area and throughout the Rocky Mountains. The Silvertip site contains 600 acres. Two hundred of those acres were preserved in perpetuity as a wildlife corridor when the site was purchased in the late 1980s. The remainder of the site became known as Silvertip Golf Resort when the course opened in 1998.
Silvertip Village will be developed over the next ten years. With intimate and sophisticated Old-World style, it will feature world-class dining facilities along with casual eateries, sumptuous alpine-style hotel accommodations, an incredible range of outdoor activities, an outdoor amphitheatre, and about 750 homes of various types, from loft-style condominiums to contain 1250 suites for guests and temporary residents, plus community services for 750 permanent residents.
