INXS launch BMW PGA Championship
Aussie rockers, INXS kick-started the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth in style last night by performing an exclusive 'Concert on the course' for 2,500 invited guests. The intimate, annual curtain-raiser took place on the 18th fairway of the East Course where the band played a selection of songs from their new album 'Switch' along with classic hits including Suicide Blonde, Mystify, Need You Tonight and New Sensation.

Following a special guest appearance from rising British talent, Joe Janiak, the band performed an energetic 90-minute set led by new Canadian front man, JD Fortune. Their first UK concert this year was well received by the crowd who enjoyed an additional 20-minute encore. The band now has a few days respite to prepare for their 15-date UK tour in June.

Earlier in the day, INXS lead guitarist, Tim Farriss and bassist, Garry Beers joined a star-studded cast to compete in the Pro-Am partnering leading British golfer, Paul Casey and model, Jodie Kidd. Other celebrities included Hollywood actor, Hugh Grant, Chelsea footballer, Andriy Shevchenko and 1992 Formula One Champion, Nigel Mansell.

Marking the start of the UK golf season, the BMW PGA Championship got underway today and has attracted seven of the current top 15 players in the world including Retief Goosen, Vijay Singh, Paul Casey, Luke Donald, Justin Rose and Ernie Els, who are set to battle it out on the prestigious West Course for the record Euro 4,350,000 purse. Last week's winner of the Irish Open at Adare Manor and current world no.11, Padraig Harrington, has been handed an additional incentive of Euro1million bonus if he secures a second victory this week.
