Nuneaton returned to the top of the Mid-Warwickshire league this week, with an 8-0 home whitewash of last weeks leaders Leamington. Nuneatons winners were S. Ball 5 & 3, J. Melton 4 & 3, C. Fenton 3 & 2, B. Read 4 & 2, P. Sidwell 4 & 3, and Paul Sidwell 3 & 2.

Atherstone climb into 3rd with a strong 7-1 victory at Whitefields. S. Brotherhood 7 & 6, P. Walker 4 & 3, S. Butler 5 & 3, P. Matthews 4 & 3, and L. Hardy 3 & 2 all victorious for Atherstone. I. White gaining a point for Whitefields.

Last years champions Hearsall continued their good run with a 6?-1? win at Purley Chase. Steve Mumford 3 & 2, Chris Leonard 5 & 3, Tom Ibbertson 7 & 6, and Harry Ibbertson 5 & 3 ensuring the points for the away side. A good win for Andy Sullivan 2 & 1 replying for Purley Chase. The halved match was between Pete Clarke and Tim Stockton.

Stoneleigh broke their run of draws with victory at Rugby by 6 points to 2. C. Dougill 3 & 1, M. Woolerton 6 & 5 and S. Young 2 & 1 with wins for Stoneleigh, B. McGovern with the only win for Rugby. There were 2 halved matches, between R. Rankine and R. Edmondson, and S. Daysh and S. Woolerton.

In the final game of the week, Coventry moved into 2nd place with a 7?-? win at Kenilworth.
