| Your Company Treasurer outlined the differences in income and expenditure from 2006 to 2007 and how the Centenary fund had been used to complete payments for the celebrations, and for the Centenary Book. Of note was the new support for coaching from the EGU, which augmented the Company's already increased commitment in this area.
John did highlight the need to increase the reserves used to support the Mens and Junior teams when they reach the English County Finals. It stands at present at £ 5000 and in the unlikely (but very much wanted) event of both teams making it through to their respective finals, the level of finance required would make significant inroads into the Companies well managed position.
2007 subscription levels grew slightly on those from 2006 and whilst allowing for this increased income, the meeting did agree for the Company to raise 2009 subscriptions by up to 25p, if required, with an overall aim of doubling the reserve for team successes.
The meeting then moved onto the appointment of a new President. John Stubbings introduced the golfing and business credentials of the new incumbent. John Duncombe (Olton).
John said that John Duncombe has been a past County player, County Secretary, County Treasurer, a Vice-President of the County, a Past Captain and President of Olton, is the current Captain of the Bears, and in business was a Senior Partner in one of Birmingham's most prestigious Law Firms. With the proposal seconded, John Duncombe became the new County President.
It was then John Duncombe's turn to thank John Stubbings for his two years of service, over the period of the Centenary.
'I must make a heart felt tribute to John's selfless commitment. When he finished as County Secretary, he wanted to put his feet up. The County Past Presidents had other ideas and thought with the Centenary coming up there was one man to lead us through the celebrations. We are very proud of have one of Amateur Golf's National figures as a President.'
There was a final mention of John's success, the first for 20 year, by a Warwickshire President in the County President's Tournament, then how John has agreed to chair the new County Partnership, to manage the County Card Scheme.
New President John Duncombe then announced the new three year sponsorship of Warwickshire by Parkridge Holdings, through the auspices of John Cutts, CEO of Parkridge.
There will also be a regular newsletter, editorially started by David Morgan.
The meeting then moved onto the appointment of the new Company Directors - John Duncombe, John Stubbings, John Powell and County Secretary Graham Hayes. After that, the meeting then approved the appointment of the officials to the newly formed sub committees.
To conclude the official part of the Meeting, David Morgan (Web site manager) talked about the future for the site and its development as a true piece of media for the County and the Company
