Ashley's victory was based on an outward nine of 39, four and five less than Hannah or Alice. She lost only a shot of that margin on the back nine and will now play in the English Schools U16s, and will start possibly five years of Midland Schools participation, each year aiming to get to the English Schools and taking her chance in that competition.

Ashley will be joined in this year's Midland Schools by Elizabeth Mallet, the defending Midland Schools Champion, and together with one more team member to be announced, try to defend the Midland Team Championship.

There was very good news for Erica Dean, whose 41 back nine took her past Hannah and Alice and into second place. She also too home more 'goodies' very generously provided by Ingon Manor's Professional Richard Hampton for the nearest the pin on the 17th by a girl.

Some very young girls played and Catrina Garni and Victoria Mallet were both prize winners for their age group gross scores. They may well lift the trophy sometime soon!

Prizes were present by Ingon Manor's new Club Captain and WUGC President John Duncombe and special thanks was given for Ingon's superb hospitality throughout the day.
