Michael Pell and George Allen started the foursomes for Warwickshire and were soon behind but, they battled back but never quite catching up until they found themselves 3 down with 4 to play, at which point they used their get out of jail card and won the game 1up.
Adam Lumley and George Butler took an early lead and although their opponents reduced that lead in the end they were comfortable winners 4 and 2.
Jake Clorley and Louie Pett also won 4 and 2. Chris Fisher and Kaljit Madahar combined impressively and ran out easy victors by 6 and 5. At this stage we were to have played our two extra under 16 players but, such is the strength on the under 14s we played two of them as under 16s.
Rhys Lawrence and Daniel Lane represented us in this capacity and did us proud winning 3 and 2. Tom Jones started the under 14s with Joel Palsar winning 3 and 2. Max Martin and Jamie Calvert lost 2 and 1 in the final foursomes match. This was Jamie,s first match for the county and he acquitted himself well but their opposition was just a little bit better.
So ended the foursomes with Warwickshire in a strong position leading 6-1. The singles matches started with Warwickshire requiring 5 points to win the match overall.
Michael Pell got the County off to a great start winning 6 and 5. George Allen had a see saw match,but looked in control being 3 up with 4 to play only to lose at the last.
Adam started well and soon opened up a lead,which got gradually reduced but he managed to win 1 up. George Butler had an off day which combined with his opponent having a good day resulted in a 6 and 4 defeat.
Jake struggled over the back 9 losing 4 and 3. Warwickshire then had 3 big wins in succession, Louie winning 6 and 4, Chris winning 4 and 3, Kaljit winning 5 and 4. These wins sealed the match for Warwickshire and it was now just a question of the final score.
Rhys Lawrence won 4 and 2, Daniel Lane fought bravely losing 1 down. Max Martin lost 3 and 2, He was playing the Leicestershire under 14s captain who on the par 5 ninth 525 yards made birdie with a drive and a 9 iron. Tom kept up his excellent record winning 4 and 2. Joel in his second game for the county winning 4 and 3 and finally Jamie in his first singles match lost 3 and 2 .
Final score Warwickshire 14 Leicestershire 7.
