| The first match saw the girls go down early on but steadied the ship at the 6th hole, by which time they were 2 down. They pulled one back on the 16th but lost the 17th to a birdie and thus lost the match 2 and 1.
The second match with Claire and Elizabeth was hard fought with the Berkshire team holding the upper hand on the front 9, finishing 1 up. Berkshire won the 10th and then the Warwickshire pair won the next 6 holes which included an eagle and a birdie. Claire's second shot with a 7 wood, following a superb drive by Elizabeth, landed inches from the pin on the 16th and produced a win of 4 and 2.
The third match ended All Square, after Berkshire pulled back a 2 hole lead at the turn. All Square on the 17th Tee, Lauren and Ashley made 2 Pars to finish.
Players chosen for Warwickshire for the afternoon Singles matches were: Claire
Howells (Moor Hall), Charlotte Dalton(Ladbrook Park), Elizabeth Haycock
(Moseley), Elizabeth Galland (The Warwickshire), Lauren Taylor (Rugby) and
Hannah Coles (Maxstoke).
Once again there were early wins for the first three out, with Claire winning by 2 and 1 after an excellent game. Charlotte, the Ladbrook player had a splendid win of 5 and 4 and Elizabeth, who had birdied the 2nd hole to go one up, had pars until the turn and finished the victor on the 17th, having not dropped a shot. This really set the scene
for an afternoon win but the nerves were there for all to see.
Hannah produced a fine comeback on the back nine after very little went her way in the early stages. After the turn she quickly went from 2 down to 3 up, closing out the match by 3 and 2 on the 16th hole. One loss was recorded by Elizabeth Galland in the afternoon games with Lauren finishing All Square after a very close game where there was never more than one hole in it.
Final Score for the day was Warwickshire 6 and Berkshire 3
