As the whole team was under 14 a new Captain was selected to lead the team. Daanyal Spalding was chosen to take the responsibility.

The match format for the day was the usual 5 foursomes and 10 singles.

The new captain, partnering Maxwell Martin, led the way with a convincing 3/2 win. Thomas Jones and Joel Palser also won 2/1. Daniel Lane and Morgan Jackson along with Iain Mackay and Luke Allen finished strongly to record halved matches.

The positive mood continued into the afternoon. Daanyal was the first to post a good win as Captain 6/5. Maxwell also played very consistently and overcame his opponent on the 16th green to win 4/2. Thomas Jones had a hard match, seeing his lead diminish around the turn by some excellent long putting by his opponent.

He looked relieved to get a win on the 17th hole 2/1.Jamie Calvert achieved a fighting half and the final three matches were all wins. New boys Morgan Jackson, Iain Mackay and Luke Allen all won by 3/2, 7/5, and 4/3 respectively.

Warwickshire wish to thank Wishaw Golf Club for hosting the match and Worcestershire for agreeing to take part. This match gave more boys the experience of inter-county match play golf, so we hope to repeat the match next year!!
