In prospect, the organisers are staging a series of regional competitions at clubs across the country this spring to find the golfer with the 'PAR7 Factor' to join the Challenge team as its fourth member.
PAR7 is the inspiration of Yorkshire company director and keen amateur golfer Stuart Davison (age 40). Joining Stuart on the team will be a British Army Veteran, a celebrity player and the winner of the PAR7 Factor tournament.
Six UK clubs have agreed to host PAR7 Factor regional heats in the coming months, teeing off at Essex Golf & Country Club (Colchester) on 29th April, Henley Golf & Country Club on 7 May, Thornhurst Park Golf Club (Doncaster) on 13th May and Kendleshire Golf Club (Bristol) on 26th May. Venue dates are still to be confirmed for Scotland and Ireland. Full details are available at www.parsevenchallenge.com
The regional heats are open to all amateur players of either sex aged over 16, who are current members of and have a handicap issued by a CONGU affiliated golf club or society.
One hundred playing places are up for grabs at each regional heat on a first-come, first-served basis and players may choose to enter whichever regional heart is most convenient for them for a minimum donation of £ 250.00.
The best ten scores from each regional heat then go forward to PAR7 Factor national final to be held at Scarthingwell Golf Course near Leeds on June 18th 2010.
'This is the first real round of our fund raising and we want to raise a minimum of £ 150,000 for the charity through entry fees,' says Team Captain Stuart Davison.
'Apart from going to a very worthy cause, each entry fee includes at least one green fee per player, two if they get through to the final, plus tickets to a PAR7 Charity dinner hosted by each regional club, and of course the chance to take part in this once-in-a-lifetime golf challenge.'
Each participating regional club will also be hosting local fund raising events for the PAR7 Challenge fund.
Further information is available at the PAR7 Challenge website at www.parsevenchallenge.com or by contacting the PAR7 Challenge office on 0113 3854246.

P.A.R 7 Challenge Itinerary:
In May 2011, the Challenge tees off at Stanley Golf Club in the Falklands then it's a dash to play 18 holes at Santiago in Chile. The team then travels overnight to play Westchester in Los Angeles the next morning before heading back to the airport for a gruelling flight to Sydney, Australia, and the NSW course. From there they head to play the Al Badia course in Dubai, followed by a short hop over to Cairo before staggering back to Yorkshire to play their last 18 holes at Stuarts' home club of Scarthingwell near York. To speed their passage through airports, the team will carry no personal luggage other than their own golf shoes.
